6 months...what?

I can't even believe I have been married 6 months. Over 6 months now... It seems that so much has happened in these last few months that time has just flown by. I really don't know where the time went. Brent is the greatest guy in the world and oh so sweet. I wouldn't trade him for the world, even though he is a little stinker sometimes. :) I love you Brent and I look forward to the next 6 months, and the 6 months after that, and the 6 months after that...

More pictures from the wedding

Me and my daddy at the reception

We got Kevin Chewbaca for his b-day and put it on the reception table!!

The boys at the temple

Kevin, Mom and Dad

Haha...I love this picture!!

Here comes the Bride...

...all dressed in white! Well, its final. Big brother is married. It's kind of weird to think about it. But, it happened and Kevin and Stacie sure look like they are in love. Stacie was beautiful in her wedding dress and Kevin looked pretty sharp in his tux. Brent and I were late to the sealing and we were the last ones there in the room. Oops... We had to print off some directions that mother forgot and then she told us to take some weird exit that wasn't the exit the directions said. So, I blame her! But, we made it, Kevin and Stacie said yes and it was a really nice ceremony.

To the Duck Pond!

Chris and I were spending the day together while my parents were out doing picture/wedding things. I think he was getting kind of bored sitting at home all day and truth be told, so was I. I decided to take a little trip with him to the duck pond. You all probably know that I have been there quite a few times, but Chris had never been there. So, we packed a few slices of bread and walked down to the pond. Chris loved it! There was this one little duck that would jump up and take the little piece of bread out of Chris's hand. He had this funny little smile and did his funny, cute little laugh. I had to get a picture!
Other than the fact that it is a little dark and I didn't have time to photoshop it, I think this is such a cute picture. I also got one of the duck jumping, but it is kind of a creepy picture. I'm so glad that Chris got to stay with us for a few days. Even though he is goofy as all get out, he is an alright little brother.

Happy Birthday Brent

Happy, Happy Birthday to my amazing husband Brent! I do have a couple of pictures, but those will have to wait, as Brent hasn't uploaded them yet. Brent turned the BIG 22 yesterday and he is getting so old. :D I wanted to get Brent a game he has been wanting, but the game store did NOT want to cooperate with me and want to be helpful. So, I ended up getting him a new guitar for guitar hero since one of his is broken. I think he likes it? I did make him a delightful cake and he was happy about that. My parents got him this Monopoly game that is of the nintendo characters. He was pretty happy about that. And Jeannie got him/us an air conditioner for his birthday and he LOVES it. I do think overall he had a pretty successful birthday. I'm so glad to have Brent and I hope he had a happy day!

I LOVE YOU DEAR! Happy 22nd birthday!

Its been a long week...

Good news: Brent's car survived 6 round trips to Salt Lake in the last 4 days!! That is 12 hours of driving, and it survived. I am so proud of it. It has been a crazy few days and we have been super busy, but it has been a fun, fun break. I will do a run down of the past 4 days.

Tuesday:

Tuesday was a reading day and I didn't have any classes. I had a math review at 10:00am and it lasted a couple of hours. I came home in time to make our first trip to Salt Lake to pick of Heather, Hilary and Cherise. Garett wanted to come to party with us so he followed us up. We stopped at Cabella's on the way and it was quite enjoyable. I got a little something for my dad for fathers day and we looked around at the animals they have there. That store is really a neat place.
After we picked up the girls, we went shopping for a little bit at the mall. For some reason, on the way, Garett's car overheated and was steaming and hissing and stuff. He thought he would just leave it for a little bit and it would be fine. We were driving to The Mayan and Garett pulled over because his car way way over the H for hot and so we sat in some parking lot for a while trying to decide what to do. Brent just took all of us girls to the Mayan and went back to the parking lot to pick up Garett. The Mayan was really yummy and a bunch of Brent's relatives were there. It was really fun. We ended up leaving Garett's car in Salt Lake with some people he knows and he came home squished in the back seat with Heather and Hilary. They were a tight squeeze!

Wednesday:

Wednesday was the big day! We headed up to Salt Lake (trip 2) for Mark and Tara's wedding. We had to be there at 11:40am and the sealing was at 12:20. It was a really lovely sealing, the first one I have been to since my own! When we were hugging Mark and Tara, I told Mark "congrats Grandpa!" His face was so funny! (No, I'm not preggo, but I knew he would freak out. And he did. It was great!) We were waiting in the waiting room for Mark and Tara to come out and this temple worker was going around giving out candy. He reminded me of Grandpa so much. He was pulling it out of ears and everything that Grandpa does. He even sounded like Grandpa! Eventually, they came out, we took some pictures and did all that jazz. Then Brent drove me home so I could take my calculus final. (Soo hard, by the way.)

I had just enough time to try and accomplish that before we went to SL again. (trip 3!) We had to be at the reception hall for pictures at 6:00. I don't know why...haha. We didn't take any pictures until 7! But, the reception was beautiful. I don't even want to know how much everything cost. But, it really was gorgeous. Tara looked beautiful, the flowers were amazing, and the food was delightful.
We made it home Wednesday evening and I studied some for my Thurday test and then I went to bed. Garett slept over and stayed on the couch. I don't know how he did it. We only have a loveseat...

Thursday:

Thursday morning I had a 7am final! How gross is that? I had to get up and get ready before its even humanly possible it felt like. I do think I did pretty well on that test, I can usually make up stuff and sound smart. When I got home, nobody was up yet and I thought we were going to be all ready for Lagoon. But, I had to get everyone moving. We eventually made it out the door and off to SL. (trip 4...) We stopped at some place that Garett knows about for a late breakfast, stopped at Target, and headed further north to Lagoon. It was so HOT. It was really fun though. I went on some pretty scary rides, in fact, I didn't not go on any rides that the boys went on! I am so proud of myself.

This one is called Wicked. It goes straight up, and then straight back down. And that is not a joke. The line was really long and so I was freaking myself out. Brent and Garett weren't helping either. But, I got strapped in and they wouldn't let me out. It was so much fun! The line was too long to do it again, but it was really, really fun!

There were some other really fun rides too, but I just wanted to brag about Wicked. I'm impressive, right? It was a long day, and my feet were killing me. But, it was so much fun! Thanks for getting us the good deal Tina. And thanks Heather and Hilary for getting us the tickets for Brent's birthday! You two are great!

Friday:

Friday we took the girls back to the airport for trip number 5! It was so much fun to have them stay with us! Come back anytime Heath and Hil!! We would love to have you. And maybe things won't be so crazy with finals. We also stopped at the guys house that made the flowers for the wedding to do some stuff there. That is a whole other story though. When we got home, we were just relaxing when Garett called. He needed a ride up to SL to try and fix his car. Hooray for trip 6!! Garetts car didn't even get fixed. Its a bigger problem than he thought it would be.

All in all, it was a fun week. But, it was crazy as all get out! We are still alive, and should probably get ourselves ready for the upcoming week with Kevin's wedding. Yay for weddings!

Happy 50th Anniversary

Okay, so it is a little bit late. But, late is better than never right? And with the crazyness of this week, I think I should be forgiven. But, this is a happy 50th anniversary to Brent's grandparents. They are so cute. Brent has the funniest grandpa and his grandma is so sweet. 50 years seems like a long time, but I have that to look forward to with my sweetheart and I 'm so glad.

I now pronounce this day...

A day for Jeannie. She wants her own post. All to herself. Nobody else. Just her. And I think she deserves it. I'm sad it has to fall on fathers day, since she isn't a father. But, she is pretty great. So, have a happy day Jeannie. And we love you!

Three great things about Jeannie:

1. She let me stay the whole week in her hotel room at Disneyland. Now, I know, I am pretty cool, so it probably wasn't that hard. But, I SNORED. LOUD. And it was a sacrifice for her, I'm sure.

2. She can cut hair. I can too, I'm sure. But, what I mean is, she can cut hair and cut hair well. She is good at it. How cool is that? I know, WAY awesome.

3. She has some awesome kids. I mean, I married her son, Heather is one of the three amiga's, and Hilary is just way cool too. She really did make and raise some awesome kids.

Those are just three of the amazing things about Jeannie. My dear Momma in law. I love you Jeannie!

Happy Day Daddio

As we were sitting in Sacrament meeting today hearing about all of the responsibilities great fathers have and all of the things they need to do to be great fathers, I couldn't think of a single trait that my own dad doesn't have. I mean, my dad has it all. I just looked up traits of a good father and I found a great list. A few of them really stuck out to me.
1. He is a good disciplinarian-Sure, I wouldn't tell you at the time I was in trouble that my dad was a good guy, but now that I think about it, he was great! For some reason, my dad always knew what my punishment meant to me and how upset I was. Even if it was something silly and pointless to everyone else, my dad knew what it meant to me. I don't know how he did it...
2. He accepts that his kids aren't exactly like him-Oh man...I was so nervous to tell my dad that I didn't want to be an OR nurse anymore. My whole life I had wanted to be just like my daddy and follow in his footsteps. When I shadowed in the OR for a semester, he bought me my own hat thingy to wear in the OR complete with ladybugs and everything. My dad was so happy that I wanted to be just like him. When I decided that wasn't quite the direction I wanted to go...I didn't know how to tell him. But, he seemed just as excited when I told him I wanted to go into Special Ed as he did when I wanted to be like him. My dad gave me words of encouragement and told me I would be great at whatever I wanted to do.
3. He spends quality time with his children-Someone was talking today about spending time with their dad and I started to tell Brent about how I used to go on dates with my dad. Quantity is one thing, and quality is something completly different. How happy I am that my dad did both with me. When he would take me on dates, I knew that he was just focused on me for that time. We would talk about the weirdest things that only were important to me. It means so much to me that he did that.
4. He shows unconditional love- For some reason growing up, I don't remember my dad telling me that he loved me all the time. But, I knew that he did. There was no doubt in my mind that my dad loved me and cared for me. Lately my dad has been saying that he loves me more, and its nice to hear, but its something I knew all along. I am so grateful for a dad who showed me love through everything he did. (I even knew my dad loved me when he was mad at me!)

Those are a few of the traits that really remind me of my dad, although every one of them relate to him. I really had a super dad and am so thankful for him. My dad really is the best dad in the whole world. I don't know how my mom knew to pick him, but she did get me a good daddy. When I'm having a bad day at school, I always wish that my dad was around. For some reason, he could just say the right things and get me motivated again. Dad, I love you and am glad you are my dad.

Another great guy that can't get left out is Brent. He reminds me so much of my dad in the way he is, and maybe thats I love him so much. I know that Brent will be a great dad to our kids someday. It gives me so much comfort to have him and to know that he will be a great example to our kids. Thanks Brent's Dad and Mom for raising such a good kid and helping him be a great guy for me to marry.

I really am so lucky to have such great men in my life. Happy Father's Day.

the time finally came....

Before....

After....

So, I would like to thank everyone who gave me imput on what I should do with my hair a while back. I was really tempted, Kevin, to go with the hot pink hair color. And, Grant, the GI Jane hair was really calling my name. But, in the end I decided to go with this. And, I LOVE it. So, I might just be pretending, but my face looks so much skinnier with the hair cut. Yeah? Are you seeing it too? Krista cut my hair for me and she did a great job! I do miss Melanie cutting my hair, its true, but Krista rocks too. Melanie, you aren't off the hook forever though...you do know that right? :D So, my head feels lighter and its going to be so good for summer I think. Its getting HOT here. My hair was getting really long, and I didn't notice it until I looked at the picture of the back of it. But, now its short, and I really do like it. I also have bangs...I worked so long and hard to grow them out too! I think those will take some getting used too... But, what do you all think? I hope nobody hates it....if you do, just don't tell me! ;)

BIG NEWS!!

No, I'm not preggo. Sorry everyone! :D But, I got my thrid and final midterm in math back...only the final left to go! One of the multiple choice answers was keyed wrong....so, that means that I got a 90% on that part! Oh, I am so smart. And, although I'm still not as smart as the rest of the math population, I myself AM getting smarter. While the average went down once again I think, my test score went up. And I almost passed it by myself without the curve. How awesome is that?! My whole class was mad because they thought they did 'awful' and so this is the theory I came up with. (I seem to come up with quite a few about math...I am not sure why either. But, here it is.) So, since I started with a terrible grade on my first midterm, I pretty much had nowhere to go but up. So, as we went on in the year, I feel like I am getting smarter, while everyone else feels that they are getting dumber, yeah I said dumber! My theory is this: if you start low, you can only go up and you feel smarter. So, don't start too high...your self esteem can only go up! And mine did go up indeed. It was joyous. I have a goal for the final. My goal, is to pass the final all by myself without the curve! With the curve, my grade should go up a fair amount and I should, should be able to pull off the grade I need. Pray for me! :D

Drum roll please...........

I got an 80% on the multiple choice part of my third calculus exam! Oh my gosh, I was so excited. I was even more excited that the really, really smart people in my class got like 60% and 70%. Oh. My. Gosh. I was so happy. My teacher didn't seem all that excited for me, and I kind of got upset...I mean, going from way, WAY bad on the multiple choice part to an 80%! Wow. Haha. It was a great day. The multiple choice part does only count for 30% of the whole exam...so it really isn't all that great, but...the 80 does sound good! I'm getting smarter! Now, only the final left to take and I will be done with math forever! (If I pass...)

Grandma's Visit...Again

Grandma stopped again, this time she was on her way home before she comes down again for Kevin's wedding. So, she got here on Saturday and stayed until Monday morning. It was fun to have her again and we played hard. I think we wore her out because she was in bed by like 7:30 Monday night. Sorry grandma! It was fun to have you though.

Look how cute he is!

And I touched a turtle!! He was going to get me...

Wow, that was a lot

So, Jane Payne posted this list of 200 things and said we could duplicate it in our blogs. Its kind of a random list but it was kind of fun remembering back to things that I have done. I actually think I might have gotten carried away with the elaborating part and had to stop myself from commenting on everything that I have done. As I was reading the list, I want to be able to bold so many more things on that list. Like, I want to touch an iceburg. And I want to save someone's life. So, I have this plan, to keep looking at this list so I can bold more things. I really hope it works and someday I do!

1. Touched an iceberg

11. Bungee jumped
12. Visited Paris
13. Watched a lightning storm at sea

17. Walked the stairs to the top of the Statue of Liberty
18. Grown and eaten your own vegetables(This is a stretch, but we all used to help grandpa in his garden. And by help, I mean we would watch and play in the dirt and sometimes help him move the water or pull a few weeds. I know Grandpa loved having our company in the garden. We also used to have “Grandpa’s Garden” where all of us cousins would set up a little store in his front yard and sell his vegetables. For some reason, it was always the same person coming and buying our food. Thanks Gary!)

I did it!

Okay. Here is the story. I don't have anyone cute to take pictures of and so I just decided to do this grid of me and Brent's engagement pictures. Melanie posted this link to Take Out Photo and its this cute blog that gives you directions once a month on how to do projects using photos and photoshop and whatnot. This month was called The Grid. It was way exciting. And the directions were so easy to follow! I am so proud of myself for doing this. Even though I didn't have any pictures I would be dying to use, I think it turned out alright! What do you think?

Exciting?

So, I don't quite know if I should be excited about this or not. I got my second math test back today. When I took the test, I didn't really feel all that great about it. I got it back today at the beginning of class and didn't want to look at my score. The class average was like 12% lower than the last test and I couldn't bear to see my score. I was having a great day and didn't need it to be ruined. So, I didn't look. Well, I was putting it in my backpack at the end of the day and decided that I might as well look. I was going to end up looking sometime. And...I did better than I did on the first test!! So, even though I still did terrible, I improved my score when the average went down! This is my theory: since my grade went up and the average went down, I am getting smarter!! Still, I am not smart enough to be in the class and the term gets over in 2 weeks, but I am getting smarter! So, yay for me!

Yummy Yummy again!

Andrea brought these cookies over to my apartment for the party when my grandma was here. They were so, so yummy. I think she left them in because they were kind of crispy, but so delightful!

Fluffy Fluffy Duckie Duckie

There are the cutest baby ducks at the duck pond. I found them on my way home from the testing center one day and it was so enjoyable. I hate the testing center and then to come upon these adorable little babies, I was so happy!! I stayed there for probably longer than I should have considering the facts of life being that I had homework, but the ducks were just so cute. Since then, I have been to the duck pond everyday to visit the babies. I really wanted Brent to see them, so we took a flashlight the other night and tried to see them. But, they wanted to be sleeping. So, today, I asked Brent to go to the duck pond with me. We took some old english muffins to feed them, and the camera!! Imagine that, a camera to take pictures to put on my lovely blog. So, here they are!

My adorable husband feeding the ducks

The momma and her babies!

This duck is sitting on some eggs. There used to be four, then there were two, and now there is only one! They are almost all hatched.

Isn't this funny?! The duck was on the turtle, and it was having the toughest time getting there. Usually, a bunch of babies are on the log too, but not today.
