a year

It's been a whole year. I hate it. There hasn't been a day that has gone by without thinking about my baby. I don't think there ever will be.

L: Um....Carolyn, you are really good at math.

Me: Thanks, I try.

L: No, you don't try....you really ARE good at math.

Me: Oh, thanks! I guess I am.

Hahahah, cute right?

Livin' On A Prayer

We had one last epic day since everyone is moving away from us. (I'm still sad about it by the way...) We barbecued, visited the Lone Tree, played Loaded Questions, rocked out, and giggled. It was an epic way to 'end' our time together. Enjoy the pictures.

huh?

Museum of Ancient Life

Brent's day off this week was Tuesday. He never has Tuesday's off and so we decided to take advantage of it. Before Brent and I got married, I went on a field trip to the Dinosaur Museum for a class and it was awesome! Brent hasn't ever been and I wanted to take him to see just how awesome it was. So....we did it! We also went to Cabela's and we were there for feeding time. That was insane! Poor little goldfish that didn't know what they were in for. They were just dumped in this huge tank of crazy, hungry fish.

Me and Hil were going around taking pictures of people at different tables. This was a conversation I had....

Guy 1: So, you are married to Jeannie's son?

Me: Yes.

Guy 1: I heard you snuck out of Provo or Salt Lake?

Me: We are living in Provo. We are there for school.

Guy 2: You aren't a Mormon are you?

Me: Yes, yes I am.

Guy 2: (Looks at stomach then back at face) Where are your kids? Why haven't you had any kids? You should have at least 3 by now.

Me: ....(confused look).....Um....

Guy 2: Well where are they?

Me: Um....we are working on it?

Guy 2: Well, is he at least fun to try with?

Me: (leaves)

Ugh...I wanted to say that I have a baby but my baby isn't here on Earth. I also wanted to say that it isn't any of his business. Is that a conversation that most people would have? I don't think so. Also, why did he feel the need to look at my stomach? Was it talking to him? Weird. Another thing, WHY did he say I should have 3 by now? That is not even possible. I don't even know who he was.

Did You Know?

..an “alumnus” is a male graduate or former student of a school, college, or university, while an “alumna” is a female graduate or former student. Since the word is derived from Latin, there are male and female plural forms: “alumni” (more than one male) and “alumnae” (more than one female), but “alumni” is also used when referring to both the alumni and alumnae of a coeducational institution.

Man: “I am a BYU alumnus.”

Woman: “I am a BYU alumna.”

Together: “We are BYU alumni.”

Advice to BYU graduates: Use the terms often, correctly, and with pride.

time for an update!

Whew, life has been pretty crazy here in this neck of the woods. So....it's time for another update bullet style!

<>Brent has been busy with school and work. He is such a champ and I love him dearly. The semester is coming to a close and I think Brent is ready for the summer off of school. You are almost there, Brent! He actually told me today that if he goes to school full time he might be able to finish in 2 semesters. Hooray!!

<>Last week I went to MASS (Managing Aggressive Students Successfully) training for Provo District. It was amazing. It was a good reminder of the things I learned in school oh so long ago. Okay, it hasn't been that long....but sometimes it seems like it! Things like PRAISE! Ahhh, loved it.

<>I have been applying to jobs like crazy. I check nearly every single day to see if there are new jobs posted. I have applied to about 20 so far. It's stressful to have to wait for the posting to close and see if I will hear anything.

<>I had an interview last Wednesday for a job at a middle school in Orem. It is for a co-teaching position. I haven't had much experience (or none...) with co-teaching but I think the interview went well. They wanted to have a decision made before Spring Break which started after school on Friday, but I haven't heard yet. Maybe after the break...

<>I also had an interview on Friday with the Alpine District. That went really well. The two people that interviewed me seemed really nice. The man said, "I was just reading in one of your letters that you kept everyone at Springville Jr laughing. I can tell that you do that. A comment you said earlier made me think that you sure are witty." I'm not sure if that is exactly what I wanted them to say about me....but better to be witty than super bleh huh? haha

<>Thursday was Brent's day off and we decided to go to the temple to do sealings. There is such a peaceful feeling in the temple and it was just what I needed. It was wonderful to be reminded of the covenants I made in the temple with Brent over 2 years ago. I'm so grateful for temple marriage and for the promise of eternal life with Brent. What a sweet blessing it is.<>Saturday night we dyed Easter eggs! Oh my goodness, it was so much fun. Brent made some neat eggs. What a Star Wars nerd I am married too.
<>Today is Easter. I'm so grateful that I know that Jesus Christ lives. I'm grateful for His resurrection. Where would we be without Him?
<>PS....not to take away from the message of Easter, but the bunny did visit me. The Bunny aka Brent got me this beautiful picture! We saw it the other day and it was too expensive for me to even ask for it. Brent had a coupon though and knew I would love it. What a good boy he is! The bunny also brought me a basket. Man, that bunny sure loves me! The bunny also has something for Brent....but hasn't gotten it yet. The bunny is going to get Brent baseball gloves! One for him and one for me. Sweet huh?
<>I also cut Brent's hair today between the conference sessions. First time ever! I think he looks pretty cute. What do you think? Jeannie....I know it's a little rough, but not so bad for my first time! :)
