Its going to be a long week...or two?!?!

Well, Friday was my big interview with a lady from the Special Ed/ESL department. There was supposed to be a lady and a man, but the man didn't show up. So, it was just this nice lady. She asked me questions about what I would do if I were in certain situations, asked me questions why I wanted to be in the special ed program, judged me on my overall appearance. (Which was very HOT by the way. Haha) I think that the interview went really well. The only downfall will probably be my GPA. It's not so hot. Freshman year I was homesick all the time and last semester I was so in love and had a fiance! I couldn't focus on school. Duh! I do have lots of experience, and I saw my scores for my essays....they were pretty good. So, it will be the GPA. I should find out in a week or two, depending on when the secretary wants to send out the letters. Oh, its going to be such a long wait!!

I also have an interview on Wednesday for a TA position at http://clearhorizonsacademy.org. Its a school for children with Autism, and it sounds like such a great job! Its for summer and for next fall at least. I might get away from Subway!! Oh that would be one of the best days of my life. The interview goes something like this: The lady in charge talks to me for a little bit...and then I get to play with the kids! I am so good at playing! That link is for the school and it looks so exciting. I really hope I get the job.

Is it really too much to ask to get into the special ed program and to get this new job all in one week? I think that its acceptable.....really.

more Easter

Saturday night I boiled eggs and we dyed them! Brent thinks he is too old to get his hands colored from the ink, so I had to take all the eggs out. I was trying to make my eggs all cute and fancy, and he was writing silly, strange things on his eggs. He dyed one yellow, and when it came out, it said 'yellow egg.' Oh, he is so smart. Another one was orange and said, 'Conan's hair is this color.' We did have two cute ones that looked like our little baby though. Our fishy is so cute! (I do have to admit, I boiled the eggs for the right amount of time, but I don't think I was boiling them hot enough. I was eating one and it was really not cooked. It is SO sad.)
I woke up Sunday morning and the Easter Bunny came to my house! Brent got up in the middle of the night because his foot was asleep and it wouldn't wake up. He decided it would be a good idea to put my easter basket together. He was doing it in the dark, and so on the couch there was Easter grass in a perfect little circle because he couldn't see where he was putting it. It was so funny. I got the cutest little bunny that matched the basket he got me. Oh, it was darling.

Happy Easter

Did Jesus Really Live Again?

Did Jesus really live again?
Yes, when the third day came,
He wakened and he left the tomb;
He called Mary's name.
Did Jesus come to those he loved?
Yes, people touched his feet,
And of the fish and honeycomb
He did truly eat.
And there were nail-prints in his hands.
And a spear wound in his side.
Did Jesus really live again after he had died?
Oh yes!
And so shall I!

What a glorious message this song shares with us. Jesus Christ really does live, and I am SO grateful for the knowledge I have of this. I can become like Him and live with Him again. I'm grateful for everything the Savior did for me. The sacrifices He made are for me and I am always grateful. I'm grateful for the Easter holiday we have to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior. How miraculous. How amazing. How humbling.

our little baby

Last week, I was telling Brent that I really wanted something to love and take care of. Something to feed and to love. Brents first thought was "Why can't you love and take care of me?" Haha...I wanted something else, silly boy. The solution: A beta fish from lovely Wal-Mart. We picked out the prettiest fishy and a bowl and food....oh it was tons of fun. We named the new addition Tiburon....means shark in Spanish!! He is just oh so cute. My mom and Brents mom are the happiest grandmas there ever could be.

Well, I am still waiting to find out if I got into my major or not. Its been almost 2 weeks since I applied, so I should be finding out soon...I think.

My momma and dad came this last Thursday and stayed until Monday. They got to stay in my dumpy college apartment and I don't think they knew what to think about it. I warned them that the 6 boys that live above us were loud and played dumb music until all hours of the night but they didn't seem to believe me. On Sunday night, the music was finally playing! Its more like pounding than playing. My dad decided to pound on the celing, that usually makes them stop. But, they just pounded back and turned up the volume. DUMB! It made my mom mad because she is such a light sleeper. I think they were happy to go home and not have the loud music above them. It was fun having them here though.

The run-down of what we did:

-They got here on Thursday and I made dinner. It was great fun! We had chicken and stuffing and french bread and it was grand. My old roommate Andrea wanted to have a surprise party for my parents since they were coming to town. We went over and played games and ate treats and had lots of fun. (My parents are late night party animals!!)

-Friday morning my class got cancelled so I didn't have school until 2:00. Oh how grand! I got to sleep in a little bit and it was joyous. My mom got hair dye from Melanie...thanks!!...and she dyed my hair that morning. I wrapped a sheet around my shoulders so I wouldnt get my shirt ruined, and its a good thing I did. She was getting that stuff all over the place! But, it turned out great. After class....Calculus might I add, we went to Tucanos and ate...and ate....and ATE! Its this Brazilian food place where they come around and shave off meat onto your plate. Its so yummy. We were full. We went to Target...and I GOT 2 PAIRS OF JEANS! I only had one that didn't have holes in them and that I could actually wear. I never find jeans. It was so great. And my parents bought them for me! Oh yay! Even better.

-Saturday my mom, Stacie (Kevin's fiance), and I went shopping all day. My mom needed to find a new outfit for the wedding that was Stacie's colors. She did find one. Its really pretty. Oh, I got my hair cut too! It was in such desperate need of a cut. I do like it. We went to eat at the Lunds house...family friends. That was lots of fun too!

-Sunday after church and dinner, we drove to Salt Lake City to visit Aunt Marie. She is my grandma's sister and they look like twins. When we visit her, it makes us all miss my grandma because they are so much alike. These are the only pictures I have of the whole weekend.
