I'm a lucky girl.

I have a student that doesn't have a winter coat. (Ugh!) So, I was told by my facilitator that I could buy him one. I went in search of one at Saver's (a thrift store in Orem) but no such luck. I'm thinking that the coats were pretty picked over since it is now winter here. The coats we did find were dirty and had holes. So, Brent said that we should just try Walmart or Kmart and see if we could find one for him. Brent picked out a new winter coat and bought it without a second thought. I have never loved him more than I do right. now. I'm really the luckiest girl ever.

Mr. Stuart

Mr. Stuart is fabulous. He once had the hiccups. He probably should have quit his job. Because of the hiccups. I suppose he could have also just stayed home. He forces people to eat smelly sandwiches & drink yucky purple milk when they are on level 1. Rude. The end.

Yeah me!

Every first year teacher in the district has to be formally observed twice a year. Since I'm one of them, Mr. Cox came to visit my class for 30 minutes last Wednesday. I was really nervous about it. I don't like people taking notes on what I'm doing. ha! I was teaching my group with 1 student in it and teaching 1 student all alone can sometimes be a challenge. After my lesson, I felt that it went really well and that I did a really good job with teaching. And, J was fabulous--paying attention like crazy and really participating. Well, last night I finally had a chance to talk with him about how it went. He took notes throughout my lesson and we went over them last night. I did awesome! What a huuuuge relief. He'll come back for another formal evaluation in January. I've so got that.

one year

Sometimes I think about how different life should be right now... But, I can't spend time dwelling on that. There is too much happiness in my life to think about how things should have been. Instead, I need to think about the wonderful things, big an small, in life:

-Brent

-family including my older brother

-Jill

-a place to live

-my education

-being a teacher to my 7 kiddos

-friends

-eternal marriage

-the gospel

-health

-my dishwasher

-cuddling with my husband

-clean clothing

-parents that love me

-warm showers

-seeing the sun rise before work

-diet dr pepper with vanilla

-food to eat

-books

&

-warm, soft blankets

The list could go on. Right now, in this very moment, I have a lot to be grateful for. And I need to remember that.

I am thankful for...

Brent. He is the hands down the best. husband. ever. I am one lucky girl. I've had an emotional couple of days and he is always good for a hug or a smile. Thanks Brent, for being my very best friend.

Alright people what do you think of my new blog look? My very good friend Presley helped me! I think it looks rather cute and cheerful! We got together with the Kofoed's tonight and ate pot stickers and stir fry! It was delicious, Garett is a wonderful cook. I did not like the pot stickers though, nasty!

November Already?

Is it really that month again? Ugh. Where has the time gone?

it makes all of the stress worth it....

Today I was supposed to be at training all day but they let us out early. I made it back to school at 1:20ish and the kids were out at recess. When they walked inside and saw me some of them smiled and one said, "Mrs. Hirz?" Ha! It made the stress worth it when JG saw me and said, "MRS. HIRZ! I am so glad you are back!! I missed you!" Then he ran over to tell me hello. At the end of the day he was singing about how excited he was that I would be back to be his teacher tomorrow. My job really is the greatest.

skype & amazingness

Skype is amazing. I can talk to people that are forever away and see them! And it is awesome technology. Sometimes I am so surprised by the things people have created--like Skype. But, do you wanna know what is even more amazing than that? JILL freaking BAKER! I just skyped with her. She has an internship in Arizona and she is doing all sorts of fantastic things for this company! Like updating blogs and being all markety for the. And I'm SO proud of her! And I love her! Sooo, I don't know if she reads this, but people need to know anyways. Way to go, Jill!
