How I imagine their reunion to have been...

Grandpa and Grandma will hug like crazy. Grandpa has been missing Grandma so much.

Grandpa will then scold Grandma for leaving him so long ago. He always told me that she was going to get into big trouble when he saw her again.

There will, of course, be more hugging.

Then Grandma will tell Grandpa to take off his shoes because she has had their mansion clean the whole time she's been in Heaven.

I imagine Grandpa will go find a huge, Heavenly mud puddle to walk through and then to stomp his way into the Heavenly kitchen.

Then, the sweeping will begin. And I know that secretly, Grandma has been missing cleaning up after Grandpa.

This glorious reunion makes the pain a little more bearable. I kept Brent up for an hour this morning after Dad called me to tell him stories about how wonderful Grandpa was and how many fun memories I had with him. My childhood was wonderful in large part to Grandparents like him. Memories for my own safe keeping to come later.

too many choices......

....and there are only two!

1. Go home to Moses Lake for a few days with Kevin and Stacie.
There are good things about getting to go home:
-get to see little brother graduate from high school
-get to see Grandpa again, maybe for the last time...
-get to spend some time with the family, and boy-they are great
-get to just be home again
There are bad things too:
-I would miss Brent SOOOOOO much. More than anyone knows.
-I would miss one day of classes, which isn't huge, but it is something

-OR-

2. Stay here in Provo
There are good things about staying here with Brent:
-I'D GET TO STAY WITH BRENT!!
-I'd work which means I'd make money which we desperately need
-I'D GET TO STAY WITH BRENT!!
-one more...you knew it was coming-I'D GET TO STAY WITH BRENT!!!!!
There are bad things about staying here too:
-I wouldn't get to do any of the good things about going to Moses Lake

So, I pose the question...What should I do??

8:05 pm on Sunday--Just so everyone knows...I really do want to go home. I would kick myself if I didn't go home and it was the last time I had the chance to see my grandpa. I'm not a terrible baby that can't bear to be out of Provo. I just haven't ever been without Brent for so long since we've been married. I would cry. But I would also survive. I think I have decided to go. It will be good for me. That is, if I can get work off and if Brent promises not to forget about me. Which he did, don't you worry.

a trip to the temple.... and to the moon?

Two weeks ago we had a wonderful date to Temple Square. We did a session in Salt Lake and it was the first session I had done there. The Salt Lake City temple is beautiful. It was great to pause life for a while and spend some time in the temple.

After the temple, we went to the Gateway Mall for a little gander and Brent took me to Applebee's for dinner. It was yuuuuuummy.

Then......

We took a trip to the moon!! And Brent gave the weather report. Man, he is a man of many talents, I'll tell you what.

surprise

When I came home from class yesterday, Brent had a surprise waiting for me. He never surprises me with flowers so this really was a surprise! What a sweetie I have.

May monthly special

This is not the best picture of color, but I like the ducky anyways. So, deal with it. hahaha
I love this picture! Brent and I went for a drive and had a little picnic at some random spot we found. It was a great little trip and I love thistles!

I love my mother.

I wish I was a better writer so I could really say how terrific my mom is. But....since I'm not, you'll just have to believe me! I love my mom. Honestly, I have the best mom in the whole world. I'm not even making this up. She has always been there when I needed her the most. She has always been there to be my friend and she has always been there to support me. Even when I didn't make the best of choices. Hard to believe I know. She flew to me as soon as she could when she found out about my baby. She knew she needed to be here to help Brent take care of me. See, I told you have the most amazing mom! She is an awesome example of what a mom should be. And when I am a mom....really....I'll have a great person to look to for help. Plus, my kids will have one awesome grandma! Thanks for everything mom. I love you momma. Happy mother's day.

These pictures are a few years old, but they are funny anyways. Ha. And, my mom even puts up with me when I make sweet faces like this one in the last picture....what a trooper!
Also, happy mother's day to Brent's mom. Brent loves his mom and she raised a wonderful boy to be my very best friend. I know Brent couldn't have turned out so perfect if he didn't have a wonderful mom. So, happy mother's day Jeannie. I love you, too!

Perhaps this wasn't his finest moment...

Brent made a delightful dinner of pasta the other day and made these rolls to go along with it. We got the rolls from Costco and he put butter and Parmesan cheese on top and then put them in the oven to warm them up. When the pasta was done, he took them out and they looked delightful.

Well, when we were eating, he said he should have left them in a little bit longer. So, being the incredibly nice wife that I am, I asked him if he would like me to just stick them in the warm oven while we were eating so they would get a little warmer. He said yes. So....I do just that. Stick them in and that's it.

Well, a number of minutes later....I smelled something. I wasn't quite sure what. When I asked Brent what the smell was, we both started sniffing to try and think of what it could be. Then my mind went to the rolls. Sure enough, Brent went over to the oven, looked at the little knobby thing and said that he forgot to turn the broiler off. Oh man...

He opened the oven and smoke just poured out. Good thing this apartment is dumb and the ONLY smoke detector is in the bedroom. (What? Why would you design an apartment like that??) So, anyways....no more rolls for Brent to eat. We opened the windows, turned on all the fans and waited for the smell to vacate.

It was fun.

joy

I'm so glad I got to go home to see Grandpa.

And I'm even more glad that he knew who I was.

I spoon fed him ice cream for lunch one afternoon. That's all he would eat. It was a humbling experience. Grandpa always took us grandkids for ice cream, and there we sat, me trying to convince him to eat something, anything. He did like that ice cream though! I really do have a wonderful grandpa. Thanks grandpa, for everything you've taught me.
Yes, these pictures are gross of me. But, don't look too closely or judge them too heavily. I'm so glad I have them.
