I'm behind again...

Well, there is lots to say...just a quick run down of the past week.

Last Sunday, I woke up with the worst headache ever and Brent convinced me to sleep in and miss church. I woke up at 11:00 and still didn't feel great, but as the day went on I did feel so much better. Brent, of course, had to stay home and take care of me. Sunday night I was feeling fine and so we made a trip to the duck pond. Its only like a block away and so it was fun. We took our old loaf of bread and fed the little guys. I did take some pictures, but haven't talked Brent into putting them on my computer yet. So, those might be coming later.

Monday, I had every intention of taking the rest of my finals that I put off. Well, I didn't. But, by Wednesday, the LAST day of finals, I was able to finish everything. And I am so, SO glad. I am done being a sophomore at BYU. Let me sing some praises. I think I might have done alright. I do have to retake my math class. I didn't like my teacher, and when she told me I was going to fail, it was really hard to enjoy it and spend time doing it. But, all will be well.

Wednesday, I set my alarm for 9:15. I thought I would wake up kind of early but still be able to sleep in. Well, the night before, at 2AM, Brent gave me a sleeping pill because I was itching like crazy all over. Wow, that was a good pill! I pushed the snooze button until 10 and then decided to get up. The next thing I knew it was 11:00AM! I was still soo tired. I called my mom and she thought something was wrong because I sounded so groggy. It was tough. Well, the rest of the day was spent cleaning getting ready for Brent's mommy to come. Deidra needed a ride home, so we also went to pick her up. While I am on the subject of Deidra...

I AM GOING TO MISS HER SO MUCH! I was telling my mom that we hadn't been this far apart for this long in...in....in....forever! I don't know what I am going to do without her. I mean, yeah, I do have Brent but it just isn't the same. He isn't so good at girl talk and stuff like that. I don't know what I am going to do without her. I will be grateful for when August rolls around and she comes back to Utah!

So, now here it is, Friday, and Brent's mommy arrived safely. More about this weekend to come.

I'm a YELLOW!

So, I took the free personality profile online and I am a yellow. I don't know, but it seemed pretty correct. 56% yellow to be exact, so I guess I have lots of other colors in there too.

YELLOWS (Motive: FUN)YELLOWS are motivated by fun. They are inviting and embrace life as a party that they're hosting. They love playful interaction and can be extremely sociable. They are highly persuasive and seek instant gratification. YELLOWS need to be adored and praised. While YELLOWS are carefree, they are sensitive and highly alert to others' agendas to control them. YELLOWS typically carry within themselves the gift of a good heart

YELLOWS need to look good socially, and friendships command a high priority in their lives. YELLOWS are happy, articulate, engaging of others and crave adventure. Easily distracted, they can never sit still for long. They embrace each day in the "present tense" and choose people who, like themselves, enjoy a curious nature. YELLOWS are charismatic, spontaneous, and positive; but can also be irresponsible, obnoxious, and forgetful. When you deal with a YELLOW, take a positive, upbeat approach and promote light-hearted, creative, and fun interactions.

lots to talk about...

Well, I have taken one final and turned in one final paper. I promised myself that I would get everything done before tomorrow, but I blame everything on my mom. Haha. We were talking this morning so I wasn't able to get ready and that means I wasn't able to get to campus on time and that means I wasn't able to take 2 of my tests this morning. So, mom, its your fault. But, I'm not mad. I will take the other 2 on Monday and all will be well.

Yesterday Andrea had the brilliant idea to play laser tag in honor of finals. Sure, why not, I don't have any studying to do. Let me tell you, it was a blast! Afterwards Deidra said we should have taken a picture...DUH! I was a little bit sketchy of the place, it looked kind of scary. And I am afraid of the dark so that made me a little nervous too. But....drum roll please....I got 4th place! And guess what Brent got, 7th! Haha. He did do this sweet roll that I wish I would have seen. Andrea's brother in law said he did this amazing tuck and roll dive thing to avoid being hit. Oh, that picture would have been priceless. But, for fun here are our stats: (we were both on the same team, and our team won!)

SCORE: Me-34,854 Brent-26,858
SHOTS: Me-766 Brent-532
ACURACY: Me-5.35% Brent-5.83%
GIVEN SHOTS: Me-41 Brent-31
TAKEN SHOTS: Me-45 Brent-35

So, that was really quite fun. Afterwards we hung out at Deidra and Andrea's apartment for a while...quite a long while actually. Andrea was watching a movie downstairs with a boy and I was throwing paper wads at them so they would sit by each other...juvenile, I know, but still so much fun! It was fun to hang out with Deidra for a few hours last night, I will be sad when she goes back home for the summer. In fact, this is what I say to that...Don't leave me!!

This afternoon there was a BYU baseball game and that was also lots of fun (for awhile). It started at one so we headed there when Brent got done with work. There was some good plays and it was entertaining. And free with our sports passes. Thanks moms and pops! It did get kind of boring towards the end, we were losing and I didn't think we would come back. And it was getting windy and really dusty and I think my eyes were more filled with dirt than actual eye. Weird I know. We went to dinner and looked for shoes for Kevin's wedding but I didn't find any. It was a pretty fun afternoon.

Now I have a headache again-not fun. Brent is helping his grandma with her computer stuff. I don't know half of what he is talking about. He is so good at the computer thing. I'm glad I have him around! For more than just computer help, don't you worry.

Oh, one last thing...I just have to say something about this. It drives me absolutly BONKERS when you have known someone for quite a long time, been close with their family, and things have to get all weird. Its just really frusterating how people can be. I wish everyone could just be happy and smiley all the time. (I know, pointless to wish, but wishing none the less!)

Well, thats all for now. I'm really excited to be done with the semester. I hope I can stay on top of things for spring and summer. Brent's mom is coming next Thursday so that should be a fun little weekend before the new semester starts up. OH! I forgot, I have an interview on Monday for a job! I'm pretty excited. I hope it all works because Subway doesn't have any room for me anymore...too bad. I'm crying inside, really....

It's finally over!

So, I woke up this morning at 9:00AM for some strange reason! I DIDN'T HAVE SCHOOL! Yesterday was the last day of school for the semester and it was amazing. I wish that now Tuesday's weren't my busiest day. I had class until 4:15. Then I had work until 9:30! (There is a point to this blog...I promise. The good news is coming soon.) So, I went to the money room to get my money box. There was a rumor going around about some of the cougareat restaurants were closing early...like 6:30 early! I wasn't going to get my hopes up of believing it, so I go about my work as usual. Steven, bless his soul, gave me the most exciting news I had heard all day. SUBWAY WAS CLOSING AT 6:30 TOO!!! I got this huge grin on my face and was SO excited. That was 2 1/2 hours earlier than we ever close before. Well, we finished up around 8:15 and I walked home with Hillary. She is SO funny. As I was almost home, I realized that I didn't have my keys and that Brent was at work. So, I sat outside my humble little apartment and waited for my cute husband to come home. Even being locked out of my apartment couldn't keep me from enjoying the wonderful day that it was. (If you thought this was a really lame story, I'm sorry. But, I just had to write this down, it might have been the highlight of my semester...!!)

What's that sound?

Just a quick note, it was pretty exciting. Brent was getting ready to go and get me some Dr. Pepper because I have a terrible headache, when we heard this strange noise. We couldn't tell what it was. So we stopped and listened for a minute to try to figure it out. Brent said, "Is that a woodpecker?" I jumped up to take a peek outside. Sure enough, there was the woodpecker on a tree just outside. It was quite exciting. He was a cute little guy, hopping around pecking at everything. I just wanted to write this down because it was our free entertainment for the afternoon.

(So I tried to upload a picture, but for some reason, it wouldn't work. It only gave me this code. I don't know whats going on...)

So...after conference on Saturday, we all went out to Red Robin to celebrate the fact the I GOT INTO MY MAJOR! (Old news, I realize that, but still SO exciting.) We had to go at like 8:30 and there was an hourish wait. So, we chilled around the mall and had a grand ole time. It was a party. Kevin, Stacie, Jill, Deidra, Meredith, Andrea, me, Brent & Garett all came. It was so much fun. We ate yummy food and laughed a lot. Forgive the disgusting pictures of me, Jill was sitting right across from me and always loves to capture my best moments. What a doll. So yeah, that was my weekend. It was so much fun, and I'm glad Jill and Mer came to visit. I love them!

Saturday Afternoon session of Conference

So, conference weekend was a blast! Jill and Meredith came to Utah for a visit and for conference. Jill, Becky, and Deidra all had tickets to the Saturday afternoon session of conference and Mer, Andrea, and I didn't have time to go find a place to watch it. We set up a picnic in Andrea's car and ate lunch and watched conference. Secretly, we weren't paying attention very well and so we drove around. We saw lots of HUGE houses and saw lots of people begging for money. It was a very Fun (and uplifting) session of conference. :) I had a great time playing with Andrea and Mer. I bet Jill, Deidra, and Becky had a great time too. Oh, and we saw Larry Nelson? Larry Miller? The owner of the Jazz! We saw his house. It was neat. HUGE, beautiful view of Utah, Amazing!

Sad News

So, I didn't get the job at that school that I interviewed at. The interview was really neat, I had the opportunity of going to each of the classrooms at the school and playing with some of the kids. I really had never done anything like that before and so everything was new to me. I don't think I did so well....Its hard to explain.. It was really fun and I enjoyed the school. I still thinks its a great place and that its really great what the school is trying to do for these kids. I wish I would have gotten the job though, I think it would have been such a great experience for me and I think I could have learned so much. But, what do I do?

I did have an interview on campus for a secretary position, but I don't know if I will be able to even work that with my schedule. My spring classes can be flexible because I'm only taking 1 or 2, but my summer classes are for my major and they are probably not as flexible. I will just have to see though. I really, REALLY don't want to be at Subway this summer....

Dear Carolyn Hirz;

The faculty in the Department of Counseling Psychology and Special Education has reviewed your application to the Special Education/ESL Undergraduate Program at Brigham Young University. We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into the program beginning Summer term, 2008...

YAY!!!!!! We were walking home from school today and Brent was so excited that it was add day. He went over to pay the rent and I went to check the mail. Yes, there were adds, and lots of them, but there was also a letter to Carolyn Hirz from BYU! Oh, I was so excited!! I ran across the street to find Brent, as soon as he was done paying rent, I opened my letter. I couldn't even sneak a peek because of how it was folded. That's what a read....I got in!! My mom was screaming because she was so excited and Kevin was pretty excited too. Brent doesn't get too excited, unless its over Nintendo, but he says he is happy for me. The program is pretty tough, so they tell me. I can't get lower than a B- in any one class. But, I'm thinking that I will like the things I will be studying, so it will all work out. I am so excited!!!!
