I'm FINISHED

That's right. I am finished. I finished the last things for applying to my major today. I am so EXCITED, RELIEVED, NERVOUS...the list could go on, but I am really glad that its all over. I didn't ever think that these last two weeks would end and I am so glad they are almost over. Today I had to skip my two classes to get things done, but I did it. I went to an elementary school today to observe a student with severe autism as part of my application. It was such a neat experience. To just be able to watch behavior and interactions and expressions was so neat. I wish I could be able to tell what was going on in his mind, just for a day and to be able to remember it. That might not make sense, but its something that I thought about a lot today. As this boy sat and played with his watch for 30 minutes straight, just to be able to know what he was thinking about the whole time would be truly amazing. This whole experience kind of made me wish that I was still majoring in severe Special Education instead of mild/moderate, but I'm fine with it. I think I will enjoy whatever I end up doing. (Special Education or ESL) I also realized today how great of a program Special Education is. This boys parents didn't want him to be different, so he isn't in a special education setting. I couldn't help but think how much better he would be in an environment where his behavior could be better controlled. That is also something I have been thinking about. Okay, thats all of my random, unorganized thoughts. The main point...I'M DONE!

school, majors, and minors?!?!

Boring title, I know. But thats pretty much how my week was. Add some chaos and a lot of emotion and you have my week exactly.

(I tried to get a picture of my class schedule for the next couple of years, but it was too hard! Especially since Brent is at work and can't help me!)

I wasn't planning on applying to my major until this fall to start my program Winter 2009. That would have only put me a semester behind, and I'm not in a big hurry to graduate anyways. Where do I have to be? I'm not in a huge hurry to be a real adult. I talked to an advisor in the education building and found out....I can only apply once a year. Not every semester. The ONLY major that is like that at BYU and it has to be mine? So not even nice. So, it was too late to apply to the Special Education major with an emphasis on severe disabilities. But, they were still accepting applications for mild/moderate disabilites because not enough people applied. I really didn't feel like thats what I wanted though. It really wasn't what I thought I wanted at all actually. Then the advisor...HUGE help by the way...told me about the minor that I could get with just a few more classes. I can get a minor in ESL. How perfect is that since both me and Brent wouldn't mind going back to Moses Lake someday? If I majored in Special Education and minored in ESL I would be so well off in Moses Lake. It sounded like such a great plan. The only thing...I only had two weeks to apply. Less than one week now. I have to have everything done by next Friday. I'm getting it done, the week has just been crazy. In only had two classes yesterday, but didn't get home until after 4:00. I took some technology tests, got fingerprinted, talked to a teacher for a letter of recommendation, and went to an orientation for some major thing. I don't even know what for really. They told me I had to go, and I went. I only have two short essays to write and a paper about helping in a classroom with special needs students. I'm almost done. I can feel it! Haha.

The chaos and emotion have played a big part of my week too. Chaos just because I'm trying to get everything done. School work, major application, Subway work, house work. The school work and the house work are taking a major back seat to other things. Someday I will be caught up on everything though. My emotions are all out of whack, but thats a totally different story... I am grateful for a husband that doesn't get mad too easily and that doesn't mind if I'm crazy silly one moment and then a teary mess the next. He's such a good boy! And he's the reason I'm only partly crazy, not all the way.

(See, isn't he a cutie?)

Ahh Love

It was mine and Brent's very first Valentines day together and I had to work. Boo for having to earn money to pay for college and other expenses. I work at Subway on campus and don't really like it at all. Too bad, shouldn't complain though. On Thursdays I usually don't get dont until 10:30 pm....a whole hour late! I was so not looking forward to it this week. How lucky though, nobody was there. It was V-day for crying out loud! Who wants to take their date to Subway at the Cougareat? I certainly hope nobody. (There was this sweet older lady there with her son though. He was treating his mom to dinner on Valentines day. How sweet. She was wearing this pink coat and I told her how much I liked it. She did this little hop and thanked me, telling me that she had to wear it so people would notice her. She was such a sweet little lady.) Anways, since nobody was there, we were able to do lots of closing chores before we actually closed. I was running around trying to get out of there on time though. And it worked! We got done at 9:26 pm....FOUR whole minutes early. I was so excited. I called Brent and he came to pick me up just like always. (I'm afraid of the dark and hate walking home alone in it.) At home, he had my favorite flowers on the table, candles, and he was making spagetti for dinner. Oh how cute. The living room was clean, the kitchen was clean, and he was getting ready to clean the bedroom when I called. What a fantastic husband! Brent got me pajamas for Valentines day and I made him a coupon book with a bunch of different things. He said he loved it...I will see if he really uses it. After dinner we have a few shows that we love watching together. So, of course...homework was put on hold and we watched them. Brent was in the kitchen making popcorn when I heard something shatter. He said, 'Oh no.' I came into the kitchen to see our brand new, wedding present pyrex all over the place. Brent thought he could heat the left over meatballs up on the stove so he could have one. He even said he knew it was going to happen. He felt so bad. I told him that if he hadn't brought the flowers for me, I would have been mad. Good thing my mom has about a million of them and she said we could have one! Yay for moms that have tons of everything. And yay for husbands that are so sweet and absolutly amazing!

And so its begun!

I'm posting my very first blog. I'm really excited to begin blogging. I have loved snooping around other peoples pages. It's really quite exciting. I've been looking around in the blogging world for quite a while and so I decided to start my own. How hard can it be, right? Wrong, I have found out, with this one post, that the inter-webs are harder than I had ever thought. I'm not as computer literate as I had thought either. But, I will see how things go. I don't have too much time to play around on here, but I will figure it out...someday.
