Grandma came to see me!!

Or she was just passing through, one of the two. I like the one where I pretend that she came to see me best though. Either way, it was a really fun weekend with her here. She got here Friday afternoon and Kevin and Stacie picked up this delightful Mexican food from a gas station. And, it was such cheap food too! Friday night Andrea and Garett came over to play games and have a party for Grandma. Andrea made these yummy yummy cookies for us. I still need to get that recipe from her. Go ahead and give it to me anytime Andrea. I won't mind!! Grandma played the Wii with us and it was quite fun, but it hurt her shoulder. So, we convinced grandma to play guitar hero with Andrea and boy, was she good. (Or not...I will never tell!) She did pose for some really good photo opps though!

I love this picture with Grandma's tongue sticking out! It is so funny.

Brent thinks this picture is so funny. Andrea looks all sad and grandma looks all smug. Haha!

Saturday we didn't really do much. Kevin and Stacie came over for dinner. Grandma made the most delightful pork chops! We had corn on the cob and mashed potatoes. We did have to get something special for Brent cause the poor boy doesn't like mashed potatoes. Haha. I saw this amazing strawberry desert that I wanted to try and I thought that it would be the perfect time since everyone was there. It turned out to be so yummy! And SO easy to make. I will definitely make it again! We didn't let it freeze for long enough though so it wasn't quite as good as it could be. But, it was still yummy, yummy.

Grandma did have to get on her way on Sunday morning but she is going to stop on her way back through again. It was great to take a little break from school while she was here. (Even though I'm regretting it now!) Thanks for coming grandma! We love you!

Remembering way back when

(This might be kind of sappy, just a warning.)

This is going to be kind of a random post, but I have just been thinking lately how much things have changed over the last year. A year ago I never would have thought this is where my life would be right now. I never would have imagined that I would be so happy here in Provo. I sometimes wish I was home, working in the pea field getting an awesome tan and hanging out with my friends. But, Brent makes this whole Provo thing and school during the summer thing worthwhile.

6 months ago I went home for Thanksgiving break and Brent had to stay here. I missed that boy so much. I never knew I could miss anyone so much, and I NEVER knew that I would miss Provo. I cried every night because I missed him so much. I had my bridal shower and couldn't wait to get married!

5 months ago today Brent and I got sealed in the Columbia River Temple. It was the very best day of my life. I wasn't nervous or scared or anything, and I knew I was doing the right thing that would make me happy for the rest of, well, Forever. After we got married we were going to change, Brent gave me a kiss on the forehead and said, "I just can't stop smiling." Oh, it was so adorable! I felt like a princess that married her prince charming. And, the perfect thing is, I still do! Brent is at work and I miss him so much. I always want to be with him. We play together, we laugh together, we hug, we kiss, we love. The past 5 months have been absolutely amazing. We get through everything together and I feel like the luckiest person in the whole world. I can't even believe how things have turned out. I can't believe it yet I am so happy. This is the life.

I want to be like this when I grow up

This couple was on Leno tonight that has been married for 75 years. It was so sweet. They are the most adorable couple and I want to be like that in 75 years! Here is their story http://www.venturacountystar.com/news/2008/apr/21/happily-ever-after/ I wish everyone would watch what they said on Leno...cute and hilarious! Ray even read the vows that he wrote for their anniversary. Ahh!

One of the best days of my life!!

Garett was leaving our apartment today and he called Brent. All I heard was Brent saying that we might go take a look down there. He hung up and informed me that the Oscar Meyer Weener mobile was down the street by Kevin's apartment. Oh my gosh, I had to go see it. I jumped up, ran to grab my camera, and we headed out the door. I was going to see the real weener mobile! And I was going to get a picture so everyone could see it!! Oh, it really was there. I was like a little kid in a candy store. I was so excited. Brent took a few pictures of me, I took one of him, and we had this kind lady take one of the both of us! Thanks ma'am! It was just so great. You should all be jealous...I know I am when I see others with the mobile. But, now I have my very own pictures with the weener mobile and I don't have to be sad and jealous of other people.

I need advice and a bunch of other stuff

So, I am really bored with my hair as it is right now. Its kind of getting long, but not too long. Its not the kind of long that it always looks pretty and its not short enough to do anything with. I could be making it all up just because I want a change. I either want to do something funky with the color or I want to cut it. But, I don't know what to do! I think everyone that reads this should leave me a little comment...and the question is this: How should Carolyn do her hair?

Saturday we had a ward service activity that we went up to for a little bit. It was "Amazing Race" style and we had to go to different stations. We only made it to 2 of them before we had to take off. We did some family history indexing and we did some quilting...let me tell you, Brent rocks at quilting. Haha. Saturday night, Mark and Tara came over and we went to SmartCookie and headed to the movies. We saw Ironman. It was a really great movie! Kind of long, my behind got tired, but it was good. I would see it again for sure.

Our talks went good last Sunday. I love my mom, so I talked about how cool she is and stuff like that. Yesterday was our first week to teach Sunday School and I'm not sure how it went. It probably could have gone better, but I think we did okay. I have heard there is only going up from your first lesson!!

I got my math test back today...I totally bombed it. I knew everything there was to know about that test and I just seemed to forget it all once I went in. I don't even know what happened. I'm going to be in school until I'm 40 taking Calculus over and over again....Yippee!! However, on my way home from school I did talk to Dane and it made my life grand!!

There is lots that has happened, I just have been lazy. Tonight we are going to Kevin's to watch American Gladiators. It has to be one of my favorite shows ever!! We enjoy watching Hellga and Wolf give each other secret looks of longing. Stacie explains the story of them quite well. I would recommend reading it.

Thats about it, life is moving right along. All in all, we are doing great and survivng!!

I'm impressive

63 words

Speed test

I am pretty proud of myself. Or should I be not be and should I be embarrassed that I spend enough time on the computer to be able to type that speed? I don't know...haha. Its not my fault its all the school work that does me in. Ha!

neat video

I saw this on another blog and thought it was a neat video. The way President Hinckley could say things just made so much sense.

From a while ago...but I don't know how to back date blogs...do you??

So, Andrea had this rockin cool Cinco de Mustache party that was just amazing. She made a cake in the shape of a mustache and everyone was required to wear a mustache...I had to draw mine on as I don't have enough facial hair. But, it was amazing and a blast! Surely this is going to be a new tradition.

Mom's visit, the first week of school and new callings

Whew! What a whirlwind this week has been. I guess I should start with last weekend.

Brent's mommy got here a week ago Thursday and we went to SLC to pick her up. (It was snowing on the way there by the way. BOO! The last week of April, come on...) we stopped at Ikea on the way home and I got the cutest rug. There was a missing tile right when you walk into our kitchen and I had been wanting to find a cute rug to cover it up. Found one! We got some pasta bowls and cute plastic cups too. Mom bought everything for us! It was great.

Friday brought us a day of shopping and playing. I don't think Brent had a great time shopping, so he went into the game store and played Guitar Hero for a little bit. He was such a good boy. Costco was also a stop, Yay!! We went to Vantage Point that night and it was a really good movie. And we only had to pay a buck to see it. I love the dollar theater! Saturday, Brent had to work and so me and Brent's momma went and got pedicures. They were amazing. Thanks Mom! :) My toes look so cute and my feet are so soft. We watched a movie Saturday night and stayed up late. Sunday we had to take Jeannie back to the airport. I think Brent was sad to have his momma leave. We were really glad she came and spent a few days here with us in our little apartment. Thanks for coming!

School started on Tuesday and I was not too excited. My break was not nearly long enough. But, classes might be better than I had expected. My calculus class is going to be tough, but I think I am understanding it. I spend about 2 hours a day in the math lab, so I'm hoping I will be able to pass! I did have to spend over $200 on books for 3 classes. Gross!

Brent and I got a new calling today before church. Drum roll please....We are Gospel Doctrine teachers! There are 3-4 teachers so we will have to teach once a month or so. We are supposed to teach together and like take turns and stuff. It should be interesting. I got another calling today, I am a visiting teaching supervisor. It's weird, because I haven't even been visiting teaching while I have been in this ward...I know, I know, I'm terrible. Oh, and another assignment we got today, we have to speak next week in Sacrament meeting. HELP! Its mothers day and so we are speaking on mothers. I love my mother, so I might be able to come up with something. But, still, if you feel like sharing any good ideas with me, that would be so wonderful.
