Trafalga Fun!

We had the greatest day yesterday! I love spending the whole day with Brent. I always have such a good time with him. My parents gave us some money so we could go on a date before school starts and we never see each other again. Thanks Dad & Mom! I needed to spend a whole day with Brent and yesterday was perfection.

What we did:

THREE mini golf courses-all 18 holes: The first one was indoors and it was all fun with blacklights. We didn't keep score. The next one was outside and Brent won....barely! The third one was also outside and I kicked Brent's trash! I also got a hole in one that game.

TWO rounds of go-karts-five minutes each round: The first time I lapped Brent three times! It was sooo awesome. He said it is because my kart was way faster, I say it is because I am an awesome driver. The second time, Brent wanted the kart I had last time because he thought that would be fair. Okay, whatever, I can still beat him. The attendant that was working at the track gave Brent a huge head start push to help him get going and Brent still never lapped me! hahaha, poor kid!

FORTY tokens worth of arcade games: We played all sorts of dumb arcade games, and even some fun ones. Brent won over 200 tickets on Deal Or No Deal the arcade game. Good job, Brent! We got stupid prizes with our tickets, but that is what arcades are all about!

FOUR 4D movies-THREE of which we watched twice to equal 7 movies: They had 4D little 5 minutes movies that you could pick and watch. They were really fun. We watched Cosmic Coaster twice, Haunted Mine twice, Ocean once, and Jett & Jin twice. You go in a theater and sit in a chair that moves and lurches you as you watch a little movie. Fun stuff.

FIFTY pitches at the batting cages-each: So, we might not have done exactly 50. In fact, I'm pretty positive we didn't. But, we did hit some balls and had some fun doing it. The batting cage didn't work all that well, but oh well.

TWO dippin dots: Yum. That's all I have to say about that.

All of that breaks down to be quite expensive. Here is the break down:

Mini golf: $6.50/person/game=$39.00

Go-Karts: $5.00/person/drive=$20.00

Tokens: $1.00/4 tokens=$40.00

4D movies: $7.00/person/movie=$98.00

Batting Cages: $3.75/50 pitches/person=$7.50

Dippin' Dots: $3.75/person=$7.50

GRAND TOTAL=$212.00

CRAZY right? Yeah, we didn't pay that much, don't you worry. They have a dream date package that is $35 for two people. We wanted to be on a dream date, so we did it! We got $212.00 of funness for $35. Yeah us!

PS....I brought my camera, but you guessed it....it was dead. :( So these pictures are all from my phone, which equals kinda gross quality and not a lot of pictures. Oh well. I know how much fun we had! And camera is charging right now!

Chris posted this on his blog way back in December. I love it. I think he is a smart kid. I think he is a great kid. I think the world is lucky to have him here to change it. I loved it so much that I decided to post it on my blog.

"What are you in the world? You personally are the only one that can answer that, but here are some numbers to think about. The population of the world in 2009 is about 6,692,030,277. That's just over 11,262 Seattle's. The number of people ever born on this beautiful Earth exceeds 106,456,367,669. That's over 179,156 Seattle's. It takes the world less than 2 days to be able to fill Seattle with new born babies.
So let me ask again... What are you in the World? Do you think your just a number? A space filler? Possibly put here by random or accident? I can tell you that I'm a "good" kid, but its not enough just to be good. You must be good for something. You must contribute something to the world. The world must be a better place for your presence, and the good in you must be spread to others. You don't have to find the cure for cancer, work for the Red Cross, donate millions to charity, but when your time is done you should be able to look back and not feel as if you did nothing. The time is now, live and love with everything you have. I cannot say I have changed the word, or it's a better place to have me. What I can say is I WILL change the world, people will feel my love. I know I can change the world. The four corners will one day will feel my love."

>I am so grateful that we always have someone leading the church. It is amazing that when the prophet dies, we know immediately who is going to be the next prophet. We are never without a leader guiding us and teaching us. We are so blessed. We were watching Angles and Demons the other night and it just made me so grateful for what I have. Grateful that we don't have to wait for a vote to determine the leader of our church.

>Summer is ending so quickly. In less than a month, I will start trainings for the upcoming school year--August 13. In just over a month school starts--August 24. Where did summer go, People? I am busy preparing and crossing my fingers that I will get everything done in time. I know I will!

>I am going to finish A Series of Unfortunate Events this summer before school starts. This is my goal. They are easy reads and I started them a loooong time ago but ran out of time to finish. I think I can do it!

>I think it is so easy to believe that everyone else has it easier than we do. Sometimes I'm glad to know it isn't true. However, I need to focus on my life (and Brent's!) and not compare myself to others. When I am doing the best I can and when I am improving my life and trying to do good things, I think I will be blessed. And I will be happy even through my trials.
