Brent made a delightful dinner of pasta the other day and made these rolls to go along with it. We got the rolls from Costco and he put butter and Parmesan cheese on top and then put them in the oven to warm them up. When the pasta was done, he took them out and they looked delightful.
Well, when we were eating, he said he should have left them in a little bit longer. So, being the incredibly nice wife that I am, I asked him if he would like me to just stick them in the warm oven while we were eating so they would get a little warmer. He said yes. So....I do just that. Stick them in and that's it.
Well, a number of minutes later....I smelled something. I wasn't quite sure what. When I asked Brent what the smell was, we both started sniffing to try and think of what it could be. Then my mind went to the rolls. Sure enough, Brent went over to the oven, looked at the little knobby thing and said that he forgot to turn the broiler off. Oh man...

He opened the oven and smoke just poured out. Good thing this apartment is dumb and the ONLY smoke detector is in the bedroom. (What? Why would you design an apartment like that??) So, anyways....no more rolls for Brent to eat. We opened the windows, turned on all the fans and waited for the smell to vacate.
It was fun.
